After
reading the section harianKompas Humanities in today's edition, I
became increasingly jengkelsaja with the policy of education system in
Indonesia is just more and more ugly. Lately rubric Humanities Compass did much to highlight the condition of education in Indonesia. Beginning
with reporting on a brilliant idea from one of the RW in one village in
the Sala Three of the creative initiated an alternative school for
junior high students to the concept of opening schools up to the madness
may be more accurately called the stupidity of the government about the
design of a new system of educational pathways .
In
this new system of education which the government will divide the line
into two lines of education, the standard formal and formal
independence. The division line was based on differences in students' academic ability and financial. Formal channels independently established for students who are academically and financially. While formal standards for students who financially could not afford even less to say.
In
other words, formal channels are pathways for students independently
wealthy while the formal standard is a pathway for poor students. Ridiculous indeed. I got no idea how could education dikotak fianansial compartmentalized according to the level of the learner. In
this case, the government argued that the formal independence would be
provided scholarships for poor students who are less able to seek
knowledge in this pathway. The question now is how many sich scholarships provided?.
The
government itself stated that there will be at least five percent of
poor students who attend school in each school who hold formal channels
independently. I think this is also one of the other forms of stupidity. Let
us just imagine if there was a poor student who obtained a scholarship
to attend formal postscript independent school where students are rich. Is not this condition makes even poor students has become insecure and inferior. When
his friends always wear a clean uniform and neatly pressed using a
softener and deodorant sedangakan clothes to poor students are only able
to wear the uniform of the former alias hibahan neighbors, this
condition is not even made this poor students become the object of
spectacle for rich students ?
Is the division of this educational path is one of the mission of government in the intellectual life of the nation?
I think education is the only way for our nation to keep pace with other nations. I'm
pretty impressed by the government of Cambodia and Thailand began to
clean themselves by focusing on the education of its citizens. Both countries began pioneering free education for its citizens. The
Cambodian government itself began to shift nineteen percent of the
total budget which is usually used as a military angaran to support
educational development.
So like where the vision and mission of education in Indonesia? Where are you taking education in our country? Is
education has become a commodity that will result in the form of a
certificate outputan and diplomas instead of analytical expertise and
resources? And if education and the right belongs only to rich people only?
Is it forbidden to the poor schools?
